There were two particular aspects that immediately stood out during our experience with Rob MacKeen of Canadian Residential Inspection Services. Firstly, his professionalism was refreshing and the way in which he interacted with me in such a genuine and informative fashion, was definitely appreciated. This process is a new one for us, and he took the time to ensure that I knew what was to be expected by the end of the process. There was not a moment during this service where I felt uneasy, confused or unclear about what to expect - he is simply a friendly individual who takes pride in what he does, which is evident in how he carried about the inspection and communicated with me throughout the experience. Secondly, the report itself was extremely detailed and thorough, exceeding my expectations of what could be accomplish during such a short window of time. It was clearly obvious that he had conducted countless inspections in the past and his experience was immediately observable. Not only did he take the time to explain aspects of his observations to me, he ensured that I knew who to contact to have concerns addressed. In addition to this, his report included photographs of his observations, supporting the details that he listed in his report. The end product that I had received was crystal clear, and again, this is a process that is new to both myself and my fiance. To say that I was pleased with this experience is certainly an understatement. My significant other and I have spent the past decade in the Northwest Territories working diligently in extremely difficult (and at times unfavorable) conditions and environments for the sole purpose of one day returning back home to Nova Scotia to purchase our 'dream-home'. As exciting as purchasing one's first home can be, there is a lot of stress involved in such a large investment. Rob MacKeen transformed any anxiousness or unease that we may have initially felt, into a process that was an enjoyable one. His kindness, sense of humor and general approach is something that should be commended - I have nothing but outstanding praise to report back from this experience. I truly appreciate the time and effort he put forth, and the report that we received at the end of the process is an invaluable tool for one to make informed decisions on future home improvements. Rob was very down to earth and open about what he saw. He was happy to answer my questions, like showing me where the emergency water shut off was and where to look for hard water staining. I was glad that he prioritized what would be an extra bonus but not necessary, and what was more of an immediate concern. He also explained matter of factly what my options were, if i could reasonable do jobs myself or if and which specialist I would need to get in. He also pointed out the positives and what strengths the house had, which was very reassuring as a first time buyer. I liked that he took pictures like the clean, dry mold free attic. Since there was no problems he didnt need to, but it was reassuring to see it with my own eyes since its an area i cant get to easily myself. He seemed genuinely excited by my interest and eager to teach me whatever i cared to learn. Very helpful and reassuring and honest. As a first time buyer this can be a very stressful and uncertain time. Rob made at least the inspection part of it that much easier. ~ Amy F
