Keep Vents Clear of Snow

Remember to clear the snow away from gas meters, vents for gas appliances and exhaust vents.

 

If you have an outdoor oil tank ensure that the tank and oil lines are protected from the threat of falling snow and ice. The tank’s vent should be clear of all obstructions such as ice, snow, leaves or debris. Any lines coming out of the tank should be protected so that they can not be stepped on through the snow, which could result in an oil leak.

 

Keep snow clear of basement windows that may be needed as an escape route in the case of fire.
